Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) policy
Description
Transportation on the campus is provided by zero-emission vehicles. Except for particular circumstances, private cars are not allowed to enter the campus. Bicycles are available for students and staff. Campus residents can bring their bikes to the campus, too. Parking and charging areas and departure and arrival routes for bicycles and electric vehicles on campus are identified. Drivers must follow the defined paths and the security instructions.
Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) policy of Urgench State University is as follows: Urgench State University aims to improve the transportation infrastructures in its growing and developing campus in line with sustainability principles.
In this context, Urgench State University is committed to:
- To inform stakeholders about reducing air pollution, increasing energy efficiency, spreading the importance of public transport for livable and sustainable cities and raising awareness;
- Within the university campus, reducing fuel consumption per motor vehicle, encouraging the use of environmentally friendly alternative fuels, reducing air pollutants, and greenhouse gas emissions;
- Providing fast guidance to parking lots with parking guidance systems;
- Establishment of safe bicycle leaving areas in open parking lots;
- Providing the electrical connection infrastructure that will meet the necessary energy needs of vehicles on the campus;
- Developing environmentally friendly, highly energy-efficient integrated transportation systems that meet the needs and expectations.
